Standing Rigging Replacement and Re-Rigging
Standing rigging is one of the most highly loaded systems on a sailing yacht. We manufacture and replace stainless-steel standing rigging for a wide range of cruising and performance yachts, from individual shrouds and stays through to complete re-rigs.
Where appropriate, we can inspect the existing rigging, identify terminal types, measure or specify replacement components and discuss options for wire, compact strand and other rigging systems.
For more information about materials, replacement options and our online rigging resources, see our standing rigging section.
Masts, Booms and Furling Systems
Our work extends beyond the wire and rope itself. We undertake mast and boom maintenance, replacement fittings, sheave and halyard work, gooseneck and kicker repairs, masthead equipment and a wide range of spar-related jobs.
As a Seldén Technical Centre, we can also assist with Seldén masts, booms, Furlex furling systems and associated components, alongside equipment from many other established marine manufacturers.
Where a mast or furling system is showing signs of wear, corrosion or poor operation, we can inspect the installation and advise on servicing, repair or replacement.
Running Rigging
Halyards, sheets and control lines need to combine appropriate strength, stretch characteristics, handling and durability. We can replace individual ropes or review the running rigging across the whole yacht.
Our running rigging range includes ropes suitable for cruising and performance applications, with advice available on diameter, construction and length.
Rig Inspections and Rig Setup
A professional inspection can identify corrosion, cracking, wear, damaged fittings and other issues that may not be obvious from deck level.
Our yacht rig inspection service covers the mast, standing rigging, running rigging, terminals, spreaders, furling equipment and associated fittings, with written findings and photographs where appropriate.
We can also assess mast alignment and general rig tension and advise on adjustments or further work where required.
Experience and Technical Support

Martin Leaning Masts & Rigging has been supporting yacht owners with mast and rigging work for more than thirty years.
That experience covers traditional stainless-steel standing rigging, modern rope systems, masts, booms, furling equipment and deck hardware across a wide variety of production and custom yachts.
We are also happy to discuss a job before work begins, helping owners understand the available options and the practical implications of repairing, upgrading or replacing parts of the rig.
