Seldén Furlex 50S for 18–26ft Yachts

Seldén Furlex 50S is a compact jib furling and reefing system for yachts of approximately 18–26 ft using 4 mm or 5 mm forestays.

Unlike Seldén’s smaller 20S, 30S and 40S dinghy furlers, the 50S uses a luff extrusion around the structural forestay and is designed for both full furling and partial reefing.

Furlex 50S Size Guide

Which Furlex 50S Kit Do I Need?

First confirm the existing forestay wire diameter. Then choose a kit with enough supplied wire length for the finished forestay. A 4 mm installation is available with 7.7 m or 10.1 m maximum forestay length, while 5 mm systems are available in 7.7 m, 10.1 m and 12.5 m versions.

The complete 50S kit includes the forestay wire, furling hardware, luff-extrusion components, halyard lead, stanchion block, prefeeder and furling line.

50S System Features

The system uses a single-groove extrusion for 5 mm luff tape, Seldén’s halyard-swivel load-distribution arrangement and a Sta-Lok® wire terminal.

These features make the 50S a complete replacement system rather than simply a furling drum for an existing stay.
