Marlow Blue Ocean® Doublebraid is a durable, low-stretch recycled polyester rope for cruising yacht halyards and sheets. Choose your required 8–14 mm diameter, finished length, splice and end fitting below to build a replacement line ready to install.

How to measure a yacht halyard or sheet

Select either simple cut ends or professional splicing and rope terminations. If you are adding a fitting, please select the appropriate splice; otherwise a whipping is recommended to secure the end of the rope.

If you are unsure about diameter, length, splice or fitting, our riggers are happy to advise. Please get in touch. You can measure your existing halyards and sheets using the example above, or send the old lines to us to use as templates.

Marlow Blue Ocean® Doublebraid is a high-quality recycled polyester double-braid rope suited to replacement halyards, sheets and general running rigging on cruising and performance sailing yachts. It combines reduced elongation with good strength, flexible handling, UV resistance and easy splicing.

For yacht owners replacing tired running rigging, Blue Ocean® Doublebraid provides a dependable all-round option for mainsail, genoa and spinnaker halyards as well as sheets, reefing lines and control lines. Its double-braid construction runs smoothly through mast sheaves, rope clutches, organisers and self-tailing winches while remaining comfortable to handle on deck.

Custom Yacht Halyards and Sheets

Martin Leaning Masts & Rigging can supply Blue Ocean® Doublebraid cut to length or professionally finished to your specification. Select the rope diameter and finished length, then choose the required splice, whipping or end fitting. If you are replacing an existing line, you can also send the old halyard or sheet to us to use as a template.
