Seldén Furlex Hydraulic Furling System
0 Review(s)Seldén Furlex Hydraulic provides cockpit-controlled hydraulic furling and reefing for larger yacht headsails. The range includes 300H, 400H and 500H systems with wire and rod forestay options, multiple forestay lengths and matched hydraulic motor configurations.
The hydraulic motor drives a self-locking worm gear, allowing the sail to be furled or reefed from the cockpit while holding the selected position securely.

Seldén Furlex Hydraulic Furling Systems
Furlex Hydraulic is Seldén's hydraulically powered headsail furling and reefing system for larger yacht installations. Operation is controlled from the cockpit, with the hydraulic motor driving the luff extrusion through a self-locking worm gear.
The drive arrangement is designed with few moving parts, while the worm gear holds the sail securely in the selected reefed position. A standard winch handle can also be used for manual operation if required.

The Furlex 300H range covers 8mm and 10mm wire forestays. Available forestay lengths extend from 15.5m to 20.3m depending on diameter, with the OML 12.5 hydraulic motor.
400H
The Furlex 400H is available for 12mm and 14mm wire forestays. Both OML 12.5 and OML 20 motor configurations are available, allowing the hydraulic drive to be matched to the required installation and hydraulic system.
500H
The Furlex 500H covers 16mm wire forestays as well as -40 rod (12.7mm), -48 rod (14.3mm) and -60 rod (16.8mm). Available forestay lengths extend to 32.6m depending on the selected rod or wire configuration.
Selecting the correct system
The correct Furlex Hydraulic configuration depends on forestay type, diameter or rod size, forestay length and hydraulic motor requirement. The selector on this page contains the available Seldén combinations and corresponding part numbers.
Furlex Hydraulic installations also require suitable hydraulic power, control equipment, hoses and associated installation components. These should be specified as part of the complete yacht hydraulic system rather than selected from the furling unit alone.
