These blocks are designed with lightweight ø5 mm Delrin ball bearings and are available either with a composite sheave or an aluminium sheave.
More grip and the ability to cope with relative thin lines.
The sheave automatically changes from free-turning to ratchet when the load increases - the sailor decides when the automatic ratchet kicks in.
The switch-over point is set using an allen key to adjust a screw inside the sheave -fast, simple, precise.

Seldén 45 mm Automatic Ratchet Block 404-401-01 is the single-swivel composite-sheave version of Seldén’s automatic ratchet range. At low load the sheave runs freely; as load increases the ratchet engages automatically to increase sheet grip and reduce holding effort. The engagement point is adjustable with an Allen key. Seldén specifies a safe working load of 150 kg, breaking load of 300 kg and maximum 8 mm line. It is designed particularly for dinghy mainsheets and spinnaker sheets where automatic ratchet assistance is useful.
