Seldén Furlex 20S, 30S & 40S Dinghy Furlers

The Seldén Furlex 20S, 30S and 40S are lightweight jib furling systems for dinghies, keelboats and small multihulls. They use the forestay itself as the furling axis rather than the aluminium luff extrusion used on larger yacht Furlex systems.

Which Small Furlex Should I Choose?

Choose the 20S for a 3 mm forestay and sails up to 2500 mm LP. It is the smallest system in the range and is supplied as basic kit 539-455-12.

Choose the 30S when a 4 mm forestay and higher working load are required but the sail remains within the 2500 mm LP limit. Complete kit reference: 539-490-11.

Choose the 40S for a 4 mm forestay where the larger sail capacity of up to 3000 mm LP is required. Complete kit reference: 539-470-11.

These Are Furling Systems, Not Reefing Systems

The 20S, 30S and 40S do not use a conventional Furlex foil around the forestay. The sail rolls around the rotating stay itself, so these systems are intended to furl the jib fully away rather than reef it partially.

The forestay wire is not included with these kits and should be specified separately for the individual boat.

Kit Differences

The Furlex 20S is supplied as a basic kit with the top swivel, drum and furling line. The 30S and 40S complete kits additionally include the halyard swivel and tack fitting.
