Moody 42 is a British sailing yacht, with our model data recording a masthead ketch arrangement, 12.74 m LOA and produced from 1977 to 1981. A ketch has more standing-rigging connections to consider than a single-mast sloop, so replacement work should be planned as a complete system rather than from a simple model assumption. We would check the stay layout on both masts, wire or rod material, diameters, finished lengths, mast terminals, chainplate pins and rigging-screw threads. The forestay, headsail furler and any previous rig modifications should also be confirmed before manufacture.
