The Dufour 412 rigging guide is designed to help owners scope a replacement project before any parts are manufactured. Winch guidance is kept as an optional deck-equipment item, which helps distinguish a core re-rig from upgrades that may be desirable but are not essential to the stay set. Two boats of the same model can nevertheless differ after years of owner upgrades, previous re-rigging or changes to the mast and headsail-furling system. To turn the model guide into a manufacturing specification, measure the existing stays and confirm terminal forms, pin sizes, turnbuckle threads and the exact way the forestay connects to the furler.
