The new Furlex 204E, designed for yachts in the 30’-45’ range, features a durable composite outer shell and a highly efficient 48V electric motor. The DC/DC control box converts the boat’s 12V or 24V to 48V, which allows for streamlined cables to the motor unit, easy installation, and a compact design.
The push-button function of the Furlex Electric makes pulling on a furling line a thing of the past. You can now also adjust the speed at which the sail is furled with the new two-speed function. An attractive, labour-saving addition to any foredeck.
Similar to previous Furlex models, the standard kit requires that the wire is cut to length and fixed with a ‘Sta-lok’ mechanical wire locking system. A completely integrated rigging screw is offered as an option. It allows for adjustment of the forestay length without altering the height of the tack attachment. You can choose the type of termination, either Standard Sta-lok Terminal, Sta-lok Terminal & Rigging Screw or a Swaged Terminal.
If you need any help choosing the right Furlex please get in touch and one of our rigging experts can advise you.
You will also need the appropriate Control Pack and if you haven't already installed a Selden Power Supply on your boat, you will also need to choose one of these Power Supply Unit Start Packs.
For further information, please see the Selden Electric Furling Data Sheet.
Please select the forestay diameter/length and termination you require, and the type of Control Pack required.

The Furlex 204E is Seldén’s electric evolution of its trusted manual furling systems, built for yachts up to 9 tonnes displacement. Designed for sailors who value convenience, safety, and performance, the 204E transforms headsail handling into a smooth, push-button operation—ideal for short-handed crews, older sailors, or anyone who wants to reduce physical strain without compromising control.
Whether you're coastal cruising or preparing for offshore passages, the Furlex 204E offers a seamless blend of power, reliability, and elegance.
At the heart of the 204E is a high-efficiency 48V motor, powered via a DC/DC converter from your boat’s 12V or 24V system. This setup allows for streamlined cabling, compact installation, and low power consumption—even under load.
The system includes a two-speed function, allowing sailors to adjust the furling speed depending on conditions. Slow and steady for precision reefing, or faster furling when racing or anchoring.
Forget hauling on furling lines—the 204E offers cockpit control via a push-button interface. Optional control packs are available for genoa, cutter, or custom configurations.
The motor unit is housed in a glass fibre-reinforced composite shell, offering excellent corrosion resistance and a sleek, low-profile design that complements modern foredecks.
As with manual Furlex systems, the 204E offers an optional integrated rigging screw, allowing forestay adjustment without altering tack height—ideal for tuning mast rake or sail shape.

Sailors report that the 204E offers quiet, powerful furling with precise torque control. The motor includes a sleep mode to conserve energy when not in use, and the system is designed to prevent overloading or jamming.
In gusty conditions or when reefing under pressure, the electric drive provides consistent furling without the need for winches or brute force—making it ideal for short-handed sailing or aging crews.

The Furlex 204E is a game-changer for mid-sized yachts. With its powerful motor, smart design, and complete kit, it brings push-button convenience to headsail handling—without sacrificing the reliability and performance that Seldén is known for.
