Order replacement yacht halyards built to the finished length and termination required for your boat. Martin Leaning Masts & Rigging can supply main, genoa, jib and spinnaker halyards for cruising and performance yachts, with professional splicing and fittings available.

If you know your required diameter and finished length, choose the appropriate halyard below and configure it online. If you are unsure of the specification, our riggers can help identify a suitable rope, diameter, splice and fitting.

Choosing Halyard Rope

Halyards need to combine suitable strength, stretch characteristics, abrasion resistance and compatibility with the mast sheaves, rope clutches, organisers and winches fitted to the yacht.

Cruising Halyards

For cruising yachts where durability, handling and value are priorities, Marlow Blue Ocean Doublebraid Halyards provide a polyester double-braid option available in 8–14mm diameters, with custom lengths and professional terminations.

Dyneema & Performance Halyards

Where reduced stretch and lower weight are important, our Custom Dyneema SK78 Halyards are available in 8mm, 10mm and 12mm for main, genoa and spinnaker halyard applications.

Main, Genoa, Jib & Spinnaker Halyards

The appropriate rope can vary between sail applications and yachts. Main and headsail halyards often benefit from low stretch under sustained load, while spinnaker halyards may place different demands on weight, handling and abrasion resistance.

Always confirm that the selected diameter is suitable for the existing sheaves, clutches and winches. If replacing an existing halyard, its finished length can be used as a starting point provided the existing line is known to be correct for the boat.

Custom Splicing & Finished Halyards

Halyards can be supplied cut to length or professionally finished with the appropriate splice and fitting. If you have your existing lines available, you can also send them to our Port Solent workshop for us to use as templates.
