Sheet rope needs to combine suitable strength with good handling, abrasion resistance and compatibility with the winches, blocks, tracks and other deck hardware through which it runs.

Custom Mainsheets, Genoa Sheets & Jib Sheets

Mainsheets and headsail sheets are repeatedly handled and loaded while sailing, so rope construction, diameter and feel in the hand are important considerations as well as strength.

Our Marlow Blue Ocean Doublebraid custom running rigging is available in 8–14mm diameters and can be configured as a replacement sheet with your required finished length and termination.

Spinnaker Sheets

Spinnaker and asymmetric sheets may require a different balance of diameter, weight and handling from mainsheets or genoa sheets. The correct specification depends on the yacht, sail area, deck layout and intended use.

What Size Sheets Does My Yacht Need?

Our Yacht Rigging Database provides indicative mainsheet and genoa-sheet diameters and lengths for hundreds of yacht models. These figures are useful for planning but should be checked against the actual running rigging and equipment fitted to the individual yacht.

Custom Spliced Yacht Sheets

Depending on the application, sheets can be supplied with plain finished ends, whipping or suitable spliced terminations. The correct finish depends on the sail attachment, rope construction and deck arrangement.
