Build a complete running rigging package for your Hunter Marine (US) Hunter 31 using our yacht-specific starting specification. Choose the rope type, diameter, colour and end finishes for each halyard and sheet, with the package price updating as you make your selections.
The lengths and diameters shown are based on our yacht rigging database and provide a practical starting point for replacement running rigging. Yachts can vary through production changes and previous-owner modifications, so please check the measurements and fittings against your own yacht before ordering.
This package is based on the standard running rigging specification for this yacht model. Please check all rope lengths, diameters, fittings and end finishes against your own yacht before ordering.
About Your Running Rigging Package
For Dyneema halyards, we normally recommend a Cow Hitch Eye Splice. This gives you a strong, low-profile attachment point for a suitable halyard shackle. A shackle may also be required and is not automatically included unless it is specifically shown in your selected configuration. You can browse our range of shackles here, or reuse an existing fitting where it is suitable and in good condition.
Choosing Dyneema or Ocean Braid
Dyneema halyards provide very high strength with low stretch, helping to maintain halyard tension and sail shape. They are particularly well suited to mainsail, genoa and spinnaker halyards where low elongation is important.
Ocean Braid is a polyester double-braid rope offering good handling, durability and abrasion resistance. It has more stretch than Dyneema but is comfortable to handle and is particularly well suited to sheets and general-purpose cruising running rigging.
Your yacht package starts with our recommended rope type for each line. The most appropriate choice can still depend on how the yacht is used and on the existing winches, clutches, sheaves, blocks and deck hardware.
Splices, Shackles and Fittings
For Dyneema halyards we normally recommend a Cow Hitch Eye Splice. This provides a neat attachment point for a suitable halyard shackle or other compatible fitting.
A shackle is not necessarily supplied with the finished rope. If you require a new fitting, you can browse our range of yacht shackles and rigging hardware. Existing shackles can often be reused where they remain suitable, correctly sized and in good condition.
End Finishes
The available end finishes depend on the selected rope and may include a professional splice, whipping, pulling eye or hot-knife cut end.
A pulling eye can be useful when replacing an existing halyard because it provides a convenient way to connect the old and new lines while pulling the replacement through the mast or deck hardware.
If you select None (Hot Knife Cut), the rope end is supplied without an eye splice or other fitted termination.
Check Your Lengths and Diameters
The lengths and diameters shown by the package configurator are based on our yacht rigging database and should be treated as a starting specification rather than a guaranteed measurement.
Production variations, replacement masts, changes to deck hardware and previous owner modifications can all affect the required finished length. Before ordering, please compare the package specification with your existing running rigging and use the measuring example shown above as a guide.
Made to Order
Each running-rigging line is prepared to your selected specification, including the rope type, diameter, finished length, colour and chosen end finishes.
Because the ropes are cut and finished to your requirements, please check your selections carefully before adding the package to your basket.
