The Hallberg-Rassy 40 guide helps owners decide what may need replacing, what can be priced indicatively and what still needs measuring. The furler section is useful for checking whether the existing forestay system should be retained, replaced or considered alongside a wider furling upgrade. The existing yacht should therefore take priority over any generic model assumption, especially where a mast, furler or set of rigging screws has been replaced before. Before manufacture, confirm every stay’s material and diameter, finished length, upper and lower terminal type, pin size, rigging-screw thread and the complete forestay or furler interface.
